At CAPA our focus is to offer students a unique drama program that enriches their passion for theatre and acting while aiding in the development of skills such as effective communication, problem solving and creative thinking which transcend all areas of study.
Every child has a unique talent that should be celebrated. At CAPA, we will involve children in all aspects of a performance including costume design, stage management and even directing. This ensures that no matter how outgoing or reserved, everyone can participate and immerse themselves fully in a creative environment.
Our holiday drama camp will accommodate up to 30 students in the 9 - 12 age group and will be run by the founder/creative director and a team of qualified creative coaches (staffed according to student numbers) to ensure every child receives focused attention. We have designed an incredibly fun program with drama games, role-play, improvisation, storytelling and a lively performance of drama scenes and musical excerpts for family and friends on the last day.
So, come join us for three action packed days of creative play! We are certain your child will thoroughly enjoy this program!
Founder and Creative Director
Tehani’s love for theatre started at the tender age of 6 years and saw her perform in a multitude of productions ranging from musicals to Shakespeare. She spent over ten years studying dramatic literature and performing arts at the Wendy Whatmore Academy of Speech and Drama in Sri Lanka, and holds an Applied Diploma (ATCL) in Speech and Drama as well as a Performer's Certificate in singing from Trinity College London.
Helping underprivileged children in Sri Lanka with English and Communication Skills, Tehani discovered her love for teaching. She followed this passion to Australia where she was employed by Canberra Academy of Dramatic Art as a drama teacher. Her rewarding teaching background and passion for drama have dovetailed in a strong desire to pursue both avenues through her drama academy.
Tehani’s skillset is expansive, combining her theatre and singing experience with a double degree in Economics and Finance from the Australian National University and work experience in Strategy Consulting. She is confident her diverse experiences will benefit her students so they may use performing arts as an avenue to develop cognitive abilities that complement other disciplines, and prepare them for challenges in school, sports, work, relationships and, well... life.
